Allen, TX. 01/28/2013 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Amphenol Fiber Systems International (AFSI) now offers ARINC 801-2 Specification compliant fiber optic termini and circular connectors. AFSI’s ARINC 801 connectors and termini went through rigorous external performance and environmental testing and all shell sizes and insert patterns are qualified.
AFSI’s ARINC 801 connector series features a removable insert for termini end face cleaning, guide pins for precision alignment, and a scoop proof shell design. It is available in standard D38999 plug, jam nut, and wall mount shells. Inserts are available to support from 2 to 32 termini and can support both PC and APC termini.
AFSI also offers the companion ARINC 801 terminus which uses a standard 1.25mm ceramic ferrule and sleeve and can be terminated with standard LC termination procedures. The terminus can also be inserted or removed from the connector with a standard size 16 contact insertion/removal tool. This terminus is available in both multimode and single mode versions. In addition to the standard PC end face option, AFSI’s ARINC 801 termini are offered with an APC end face for applications requiring reduced back reflection.
